Dr. Nichter's career spans academic medicine and private practice — over 135 published studies, a tenured professorship at USC, and two terms as Chairman of Plastic Surgery at Hoag Hospital. But his patients don't choose him for titles. They choose him for judgment.
That judgment comes from decades of knowing what to do — and equally, what not to do. Results should look natural, proportionate, and lasting. The goal is never transformation for its own sake. It's helping each patient look like the best version of themselves.

Mission Plasticos
Surgery as a calling,
not just a career.
In 1995, Dr. Nichter founded Mission Plasticos — a nonprofit providing reconstructive surgery to children and adults who would otherwise have no access to care.
Over three decades, he has led more than 70 medical missions across Asia, Latin America, and beyond. That work was documented in The Story of Healing, a short film that received an Academy Award. In 2022, Dr. Nichter was received by the Dalai Lama in recognition of Mission Plasticos's burn surgery programs in Nepal.
